Being bored is an OK thing

With boredom, creativity abounds!  This particular summer day was "too hot" to be outside (his opinion)... and then came the "b" word.

"Mom, I'm bored."

I gave him my favorite response: "Well, I have plenty of cleaning you can help with..." Which sends him running in the opposite direction.

So he spent a good chunk of that afternoon playing with Legos in his room.  And he came up with this:


His very own Lego checkers game!  I thought it quite clever. :)  Good job, Brandon!

Funny how the suggestion of housework can motivate our kids to come up with their own solution to boredom. ;)

I love it, Sara! Yes, my own children know exactly what's going to happen if they ever utter the word *bored.* :) Good job, Mom and son! :)
